Police Headquarters Monday evening said ranks on the Essequibo Coast discovered the decomposed body of a man at an abandoned house in the village of Henrietta.
The man reportedly had no fixed place of abode and Police are still to determine his identity.
It was a 64-year-old resident of Henrietta who reported to the Anna Regina Police Station that he was getting a foul smell emanating from an abandoned house located north of his yard.
“As such, he went and made checks and observed the body of a male in a decomposing state (with flies and worms on the body),” Police Headquarters stated.
The body was taken to the Suddie Hospital mortuary and a post-mortem is expected to be conducted.
