Young cricketers gear up for U-13 Inter-County Championship

Defending champions Essequibo will begin their title defense in the upcoming Guyana Cricket Board Under-13 Inter-county Championship, facing off against Demerara in the opening round.

The tournament will commence on Thursday at the Affiance Ground, where Essequibo, bolstered by their previous success, is expected to field a strong team.

The second round will see Berbice take on Demerara at the LBI Ground on Friday, followed by a clash between Essequibo and Berbice at the same venue on Saturday.

The U13 Inter-county Championship has played a crucial role in developing young cricketing talent, with players like Bhomesh Lall, Brandon Henry, Makayah Holmes, Justin Dowlin, Reyaz Latif, and others showcasing their potential in last year’s tournament.

According to the GCB, the official team lists for each county will be announced before the start of the competition.
