Two men, 51-year-old Leon Narine, and 41-year-old Yugeshwarlall Hardeo, were nabbed with small quantities of marijuana at a First Avenue, Bartica, Region Seven, house.
Police Headquarters reported that ranks observed Narine cutting up what appeared to be cannabis taken from a ziploc bag in his possession sometime Monday.
The rank reportedly took possession of the substance and ziploc bag, which contained a quantity of leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be narcotics. Narine was then arrested and escorted to Bartica Police Station.
The suspected narcotics were weighed in his presence and amounted to 190 grammes.
Meanwhile, Hardeo, who was at the premises, was also searched.
This search revealed a transparent plastic bag containing suspected cannabis. He was also informed of the offense committed; cautioned, arrested, and escorted to Bartica Police Station.
The suspected cannabis was weighed in his presence and amounted to 13 grammes.
Both suspects are currently in custody pending charges.
