Thirty-year-old Martin Calvin was on Tuesday sentenced to five years imprisonment for the armed robbery committed on a 30-year-old Windsor Forest, West Coast Demerara woman.
Police Headquarters reported that Calvin, a resident of East Ruimveldt, Georgetown appeared before Magistrate Alisha George at the Leonora Magistrate’s Court.
He was charged for the armed robbery which occurred on September 13, 2024.
Calvin, who was arrested on Saturday pleaded guilty to the charge.
He was thereafter sentenced.
The charge was laid contrary to Section 222 (c) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01.
