A gold miner and a construction worker were Monday arrested after they were caught with an unlicensed, loaded .38 Revolver.
Police Headquarters reported that ranks responded to an alleged break-and-enter at Herstelling, East Bank Demerara (EBD) at about 14:30 hrs Monday.
There, they engaged Bertrand Walks, a 36-year-old gold miner, and Oziah Vanrosum, a 20-year-old construction worker.
The ranks were told that Walks was in charge of the house but the property is disputed. The Officers asked to search the house and Walks agreed.
Subsequently, the .38 Revolver was found in the bathroom on the upper floor. It was loaded with ammunition.
Vanrossum reportedly admitted ownership of the gun.
Police took possession of the weapon, and both suspects were arrested and placed into custody.
