A 46-year-old man from Bachelor’s Adventure, East Coast Demerara is in police custody following a drug bust at his camp in Oku Backdam early Sunday morning.
At approximately 2:00 hrs, police said officers from Regional Division #7 arrived at the location and found Mark Ramdass asleep in his bed.
Upon waking him, the police conducted a search of the premises.
They uncovered a black plastic bag containing a bottle hidden inside a pillowcase.
The bottle held several rock-like substances suspected to be cocaine, alongside several ziplock bags filled with seeds, leaves, and stems believed to be cannabis.
Ramdass was informed of the allegations against him and reportedly responded, “Is me own, do a thing fo meh nah.” He was subsequently arrested and taken to the Bartica Police Station for processing.
The suspected narcotics were weighed, revealing 5.4 grams of cocaine and 38.7 grams of marijuana. Ramdass is currently in custody and is expected to face charges soon.
