The International Business Conference (IBC) gets underway on October 15 and with hundreds of investors and business players carded to attend, the Head of the Guyana Office for Investment (GO-Invest) Dr. Peter Ramsaroop hinted that additional benefits for persons looking to do business in Guyana may be announced.
Dr. Ramsaroop spoke at an IBC press conference at his office on Tuesday.
According to him, the Government of Guyana fully supports the conference and believes the venture will help stimulate business activity in Guyana.
And he alluded to new incentives for investors.
“We have some incentives that we’re gonna announce even more at this conference in industries of agro-processing especially and manufacturing,” Dr. Ramsaroop told reporters.
The inaugural IBC is co-hosted by the Suriname- Guyana Chamber of Commerce (SGCC) and the Guyana Manufacturing and Services Association (GMSA).
It is focused on the manufacturing sector because of the opportunities available in Guyana. And according to SGCC Chairman, Vishnu Doerga hundreds of business stakeholders will be part of the conference.
Meanwhile, the Ambassador of Suriname to Guyana Liselle Blankendal announced that the 2025 edition of the IBC will be held in Suriname from February 4 to 6.
“It will build on the foundation laid this year, attract investments, foster business opportunities & forge partnerships,” she said.
