A police raid led by Superintendent Krishna Ramana, the Commander for Regional Division #1, uncovered drugs at the residence of 49-year-old Jarrette Singh, an unemployed woman living in Kumaka Stretch, North West District.

During the operation on Saturday, law enforcement officials discovered two transparent plastic bags containing leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be Cannabis Sativa next to a cupboard in the kitchen.

Upon being informed of the suspicion, Singh allegedly admitted, “It’s mine. I use it for my illness,” according to one of the police officers present.

A subsequent search of the home revealed several items associated with drug use and distribution. These included small zip-lock plastic bags, three digital scales, a coffee plate with a razor blade, and a whitish/creamish substance suspected to be cocaine.

Additionally, police found two marijuana grinders and a pack of Bamboo smoking papers.

All items were seized for further examination, and Singh was arrested and taken to the Mabaruma Police Station. The cannabis was weighed at 41 grams, though the weight of the suspected cocaine has yet to be determined.

Both substances were carefully packaged in separate evidence bags for further analysis.

Singh remains in custody as investigations continue.
