‘No owner’ as Police stumble on locked car with keys nearby, uncovers illegal gun

0

In a plot twist, police officers on routine patrol in the early hours of Wednesday stumbled upon a grey Wagon with registration plate #PAG 3160, parked at a known “drugs block” along Norton Street and Mandela Avenue.

But it wasn’t the car’s looks that raised the eyebrows of the officers—it was the complete and utter lack of ownership.

Around 2:30 hrs, officers rolled up in a patrol vehicle and spotted a group of men acting shifty.

Police said the group promptly split up and scattered but left the unattended Wagon behind.

After asking a few questions and receiving merely shrug, the officers decided to investigate further.

They found a car key lying next to the vehicle. The key worked. It unlocked the car and during a search of the glove compartment officers discovered a .40-caliber pistol with a magazine and 11 rounds of ammunition.

Interestingly police said not a single person in sight claimed it.

The vehicle’s registration was found inside the car, stating that the car belonged to Melissa Cox of Norton Street, Lodge. And the officers also found a driver’s license for someone named Patrick Kireem Sanmoogan.

Police said neither Melissa nor Patrick could be found. The search for both individuals continues
