Woman remanded after failing to deliver 13 cars and receiving $11M in down-payment

Omeca Primo, 36, was on Friday remanded to prison after she was charged with obtaining over $11 million from persons, who paid for cars that she promised to deliver.

Primo, the owner of Primo’s lmport and Primo’s Taxi Service appeared before acting Chief Magistrate, Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrate Court.

She faced 13 counts of obtaining money by false pretense charges.

The charges stemmed from Primo allegedly obtaining $11,300,000 from thirteen persons by falsely pretending that she was the owner and in possession of motor cars to sell and deliver on specific dates.

Primo was not required to plead to the charges. She was remanded to prison.

Police said Primo is likely to face additional charges as forty-two other victims provided statements and investigations are ongoing.

The case was postponed to November 8 for a report.
