Rain had the final say at UWI SPEC in Trinidad on Thursday, forcing Guyana Harpy Eagles and the Combined Campuses and Colleges (CCC) to settle for a no-result in the CG United Super50 Cup.

Batting first, Harpy Eagles made 271-7 from the allotted 45 overs, with opener Matthew Nandu stroking a maiden List A hundred, and skipper Tevin Imlach and Kemol Savory scoring fifties.

In reply, CCC were 32-1 from 6.5 overs when rain cut short the game.

The result means both teams are still searching for their first win, after losing their opening game.

Left-hander Nandu was the mainstay of Harpy Eagles innings, scoring 116 off 103 balls, an innings that included seven fours and five sixes.

After the early loss of fellow opener Tagenarine Chanderpaul for 13, Nandu added 123 for the second wicket with Imlach, who followed up his unbeaten 65 in the first match against Windward Islands Volcanoes, with 51 off 58 (5x4s).

Savory added impetus to Harpy Eagles’ innings at the backend, scoring 50* off 42 (2x4s, 1×6).

Mikkel Govia (4-42) and Abhijai Mansingh (2-45) were the top bowlers for CCC, who lost opener Kamil Pooran for 20, bowled by Nial Smith before curtailed the game.

Super50 action continues on Friday with Barbados Pride against Leeward Islands Hurricanes from 09:00h at Queen’s Park Oval, followed by Trinidad and Tobago Red Force against Windward Islands Volcanoes from 13:00h at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy.
