Collin Obermuller, a 44-year-old miner and businessman of Bartica, Region Seven, and his wife were arrested on Monday after Police nabbed them with various illegal drugs.
Police Headquarters reported that rank carried out a search based on information received. The officers unsuccessfully searched the couple’s house for drugs, arms and ammunition.
However, a further search was conducted in the backyard where a five- gallon bucket with a yellow cover was buried beneath a cherry tree. Several drugs were found inside.
The items found were: one multi-coloured parcel containing leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be cannabis, weighing 362 grammes; one clear transparent plastic bag containing a whitish substance suspected to be cocaine, weighing 25 grammes; and one clear plastic bottle containing 38 ziploc bags suspected to contain amphetamine, weighing 24 grammes.
Additionally, Police later found 11 ziploc bags with a whitish substance suspected to be cocaine, weighing 62 grammes.
Both suspects were informed of the suspicions and the offences committed, cautioned, and taken into custody. They are assisting with the investigation at the Bartica Police Station.
