Rice farmer, 43, dies after losing control of tractor 

Sunil Rampersaud, a 43-year-old rice farmer of Mibicuri South, Black Bush Polder, Region Six died on Monday afternoon after losing control of his tractor.

Police Headquarters reported that the man was driving his tractor at a normal rate around 16:40 hrs Monday.

As he approached a wooden bridge and began to turn right, he lost control of the tractor which then flipped into a nearby trench.

The man was taken out of the trench by public-spirited individuals and transported to the Mibicuri Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by a doctor.

The man’s body was later taken to Ramoo’soo’s Funeral Home, awaiting a post-mortem examination.

Further investigations are ongoing.
