Guyana Harpy Eagles recovered from 35-4 to defeat West Indies Academy by two wickets in the CG United Super50 Cup on Monday night at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad.
From 77-5 chasing 201, Kemol Savory and Kevlon Anderson added 76 to put Harpy Eagles back on course for victory.
Anderson made an even-fifty off 81 balls (2x4s), his second half-century this season, while Savory kept his composure to take the Harpy Eagles to victory.
The left-hander stroked 56* off 85 balls (3x4s), his third fifty of the competition.
Matthew Nandu chipped in with 34 off 61 (3x4s, 1×6), but little came from the top order- Junior Sinclair (4), Keemo Paul (0), Tevin Imlach (1) and Rampertab Ramnauth (4).
Earlier, debutant Ramnauth, more known for his batting, picked up 3-24, Junior Sinclair 3-40 and Veerasammy Permaul 2-57 to dismiss the West Indies Academy for 200.
It was Harpy Eagles’ second win in seven matches this season.
Harpy Eagles are in fifth position on 37 points, having completed all their preliminary games.
