19-y-o dies in Linden accident

The motorcar and motorcycle involved in the accident

Ezekiel Smith, a 19-year-old of West Watooka, Linden, Region 10, died in a Sunday morning accident.

Police Headquarters reported that the fatal accident at about 03:45 hrs Sunday at the Washer Pond Public Road in Mackenzie, Linden.

The accident involved a car (#PAH 2213) owned and driven by Ivor Mc Nab, a 21-year-old soldier from Half Mile Wismar, and a motorcycle driven by Joel Nurse, a 23-year-old from West Watooka Wismar with Smith as the pillion rider.

Police said the car was proceeding south along Washer Pond road while the motorcyclist was proceeding in the opposite direction.

The driver of the car ended up in the path of the motorcycle and, as a result, a collision occurred causing the motorcyclist and pillion rider to fall on the road surface and receive injuries about their bodies.

The motorcycle was then engulfed in flames.

The car driver, the motorcyclist and pillion rider were all picked up in unconscious condition by public-spirited citizens and taken to the Linden Hospital Complex where they were all seen and examined by Dr. Ross.  The doctor, however, pronounced Smith dead.

Meanwhile. Mc Nab was admitted for chest pain and Nurse was admitted for fractures to both legs at the hospital.

The body of Smith is at the Linden Senior Citizen Association Mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination. Investigations are in progress.
