Bailiff granted $100k bail for obtaining money by false pretense
Alonzo Melville, a 29-year-old bailiff of Byderabo Road, Bartica, appeared at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday after being charged with obtaining money by false pretense.
Melville made his appearance before Magistrate Teriq Mohamed and pleaded not guilty. He was granted bail in the sum of $100,000. The matter is set for continuation on 31st January 2025.
Melville is accused of obtaining money by false pretense from Jasmine Mohammed, a 29-year-old female gold miner of Karrau Village, Upper Cuyuni River, in September 2024.
