Man nabbed with 136lbs of ganja in car 

Neil Patterson, a 26-year-old man of Kwakwani Park, Berbice River, was Tuesday morning nabbed with 62 kilogrammes (or about 136.7 pounds) of marijuana.

Police Headquarters reported that the man was caught with the narcotics at Craig, East Bank Demerara. He was driving a white Toyota 212 motorcar (#PRR 2536).

When the vehicle was searched, Police found six bulky parcels wrapped in transparent plastic, containing leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be narcotics. The suspected narcotics were found in the baggage compartment and back seat of the car.

Patterson, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was informed of the offence, arrested, and cautioned. He was then escorted to Regional Police 4’B’ Headquarters (Narcotics Department), along with the suspected narcotics.

The narcotics were weighed in Patterson’s presence and found to weigh 62 kilogrammes. Investigations continue.
