A 24-year-old vendor was remanded to prison after being charged with the possession of 1.1562 kilograms of cocaine.
Wendez Pompey made his appearance at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court on Friday, one day after he was intercepted with the drugs.
Pompey pleaded not guilty and was refused bail. The matter was adjourned until February 21, 2025.
On Thursday, Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) officers conducted an operation at Mittleholzer Street North Ruimveldt, Georgetown where they intercepted a Toyota Mini Bus bearing license plate number BAE 7328.
Pompey was inside the vehicle and was arrested after a search found one parcel of cocaine.
