GOA to host General Assembly for Caribbean National Olympic Committees

Guyana has been chosen to host a major gathering of Caribbean Olympic officials in October 2025.

The Guyana Olympic Association (GOA) will stage the Caribbean Association of National Olympic Committees (CANOC) annual workshop and general assembly.

The decision was announced following a CANOC executive meeting held remotely on Friday.

The GOA successfully bid to host the two events, highlighting Guyana’s experience in hosting international events, its modern facilities, and the support of the national government.

The association also emphasised the opportunity to strengthen partnerships with various organisations within Guyana.

The events, scheduled for 18 and 19 October 2025, will be held at the Pegasus Hotel and Suites in Georgetown.

CANOC praised the GOA’s bid and offered its support in planning the workshop and assembly.

The organisation expressed confidence that Guyana would provide a memorable experience, reflecting the country’s commitment to sports development and regional cooperation.

CANOC has urged its members to fully support the GOA in the lead-up to the events, reinforcing its motto “Beyond Possible” in Caribbean and global sport.
