Junior Sinclair and Ronaldo Alimohamed slammed hundreds on Wednesday when close to 500 runs were scored on day one of the Guyana Harpy Eagles second practice game at the National Stadium, Providence.
The Harpy Eagles are preparing for their title defence in the West Indies Four-Day Championship, starting January 29.
Batting first against Kemol Savory XI, Nial Smith XI racked up an imposing 472 all out from 83.5 overs with Sinclair hitting 129 and Alimohamed smashing a six-laden 121.
The pair- both brandishing E4 bats- added a rapid 179 in just 19 overs for the seventh wicket, as Nial Smith Xi recovered from a shaky 131-5.
Sinclair faced 139 balls and struck eight fours and nine sixes, while Alimohamed’s innings spanned just 59 balls and 85 minutes of mayhem as he bludgeoned 10 fours and 11 sixes.
Also among the runs were Albion pair Afraz Budhu and Adrian Sukwah, who both scored half-centuries.
Budhu made 66 off 58 (10x4s, 2x6s) and shared a sixth-wicket stand of 137 with Sinclair, while Sukwah struck 56 off 71 (5x4s, 2x6s).
Zeynul Ramsammy (3-35), Isai Thorne (2-42), Thaddeus Lovell (2-73) and Richie Looknauth (2-111) were the wicket-takers for Kemol Savory XI, who closed the day 19-0.
