Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport Charles Ramson Jr. and Shadow Minister on the opposition side Nima Flue-Bess on Tuesday clashed over government’s investment in community grounds during day three of the 2025 National Budget Debates.

Flue-Bess argued that many of the grounds are incomplete, raising questions about incompetence and misuse of public funds.

Minister Ramson Jr., however, highlighted that it was in fact the previous government that cut funding to community grounds.

In the record G$8 billion allocated for sport in the 2025 budget, G$2 billion has been earmarked to continue developing community grounds, while G$1 billion is also included for procuring and installing lights on grounds nationwide.
