Teenager is suspect in City Councillor’s murder- Police

Investigators probing the murder of City Councillor, Kyle Anthony Solomon are pursuing a 16-year-old school dropout, who is the suspect in the crime.

Police Headquarters, in a statement, said the suspect fled the scene after allegedly inflicting five stab wound on Solomon.

So, Police said efforts are being made to locate him.

Solomon, a 47-year-old businessman, was stabbed to his abdomen, chest, rib and left hand at around 04:00hrs Wednesday at D’Urban Backlands, Georgetown.

According to a Police report, Solomon exited his house and noticed the suspect trying to gain entry into his shop.

As such, Police said Solomon raised an alarm and the suspect began to run.

“The businessman gave chase behind the suspect and caught up with him after which a heated argument ensued,” Police Headquarters noted.

It was then that the suspect pulled out a knife from his pants waist and inflicted the stab wounds.

Solomon fell to the ground motionless and was subsequently pronounced dead.

His body was taken to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home where is awaits an autopsy.

Police said as the investigation continues, several persons were questioned.
