Porter jailed, license suspended after charged with dangerous driving

Jairaj Singh, a 28-year-old porter of Onderneeming Sand Pit, Essequibo Coast, had his driver’s license suspended for 12 months after being charged with dangerous driving.

He made his appearance at the Suddie Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Tamieka Clarke on Wednesday.

Police Headquarters reported that the incident was committed on taxi driver Devon Hardy and contractor Bridgemohan Persaud; it occured on January 1, 2025 along the Little Alliance Public Road, Essequibo Coast.

Singh was also charged for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He was found guilty and also fined $25,000 in default of one month’s imprisonment.
