As the government continues to develop the Silica City project, President Dr. Irfaan Ali Sunday said the second phase of the development is expected to encourage and support diaspora investments.

“The second phase (of the Silica City development) will be opened up within two weeks, and that second phase will be for diaspora investment

“You can come there, build your mall, build your apartment complex and you will have your house there,” President Ali said at a Region Three community meeting.

The government has set aside some 3,800 acres of land for the Silica City project, and work on the infrastructure is already underway with 110 houses being constructed.

In addition to green areas and other facilities, the state-of-the-art development will include smart homes outfitted with the newest energy-saving technologies.
