One dead, two hospitalised following Angoy’s Ave. chopping incident 

One person is dead and two others are hospitalised following a violent chopping incident at Angoy’s Avenue, New Amsterdam, Berbice.

The deceased was identified as 45-year-old Leon Fordyce, known as “Nastyman,” a labourer residing at High Dam, Angoy’s Avenue.

The injured include 40-year-old Anganisha Newyear, also from the same address.

The incident occurred between 22:30 hrs and midnight Sunday at High Dam.

Initial reports indicate that the confrontation stemmed from a domestic dispute involving all three individuals.

The suspect, who is currently under police guard, is receiving medical treatment at the New Amsterdam Hospital.
