Leguan man on $40, 000 bail after charged with unlawful wounding of wife

Orwin Rankin was read the charge of unlawful wounding on Wednesday by Magistrate Bess when he appeared at the Wakenaam Magistrate’s Court
He pleaded not guilty and was placed on $40,000 bail.
Rankin, a speedboat captain, who was arrested on Tuesday, is accused of domestic violence directed at his wife.
Police ranks of Region Three intervened in the matter after his wife’s Mother, Sharmilla Dhanraj, posted a photo to Facebook with Selina, her daughter’s face covered in blood.
The matter has since been transferred to the Leguan Magistrate’s Court for May 29, 2025.
