Guyanese Christina Ramsammy cops historic IFBB Pro Card

Christina Ramsammy etched her name in history on Saturday night, becoming the first Guyanese to win an International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation (IFBB) Pro Card on home soil, at the sixth staging of the One Guyana Stage of Champions.

Ramsammy won the Miss Bikini Open competition at the National Cultural Centre, with Meyer Charelle, Sabita Stephenson and Ralissa Weleleer occupying positions second to fourth in that order.

A Pro Card is the credential that elevates a bodybuilder from amateur status to professional status within the IFBB Pro League.

After her crowning moment, Christina and her husband and biggest supporter, three-time Mr. Guyana Darious Ramsammy, spoke to News Room.

Surinamese bodybuilders Rafael Kromokarijo and Marlon Henery had a memorable sojourn to Guyana, leaving with the coveted IFBB Pro Card.

The pair topped their respective divisions, with Kromokarijo winning the Men’s Physique and Henery the Bodybuilding Over 95kg Class.

After their success was confirmed, Kromokarijo and Henery spoke exclusively to News Room, expressing their elation to move from amateur to pro.
