Millions in goods, cash stolen from Vickash Enterprise in Corentyne

A robbery at Vickash Enterprise, an agro-chemical business located in Number 64 Village, Corentyne Berbice, resulted in the loss of millions of dollars in cash and valuable items on Sunday.
The business owner, Bharrat Sukhu, was alerted to the incident by a staff member who reported for duty on the morning of June 15th. Upon receiving the alarming report, Sukhu promptly contacted the police and went to the scene.
Upon arrival, Sukhu conducted a thorough inspection of the store and found significant damage. Two doors had been broken into—one on the side of the building, which served as the entry point for the perpetrators and provided direct access to Sukhu’s bond, and another that led to both the bond and the main store. According to Sukhu, the intruders used heavy machinery to cut through the padlocks.

Sukhu reported a substantial loss, including one outboard engine, 20 motor blowers, and a large sum of cash.
“Each motor blower costs $130,000, totaling $2.6 million for all 20. The outboard engine is valued at $500,000, and the cash loss is approximately $500,000 to $600,000,” he stated.
He noted that the robbers left behind traces, including a cut fence belonging to a neighbour, which they used to escape via a back street. Along the escape route, Sukhu found some of the boxes from the stolen motor blowers, which he collected as evidence.

“This is not one person do the break in, to my knowledge this got to be and three to four persons to the work,” he asserted.
Sukhu revealed that his business has been targeted multiple times in the past and that one of the alleged perpetrators is well known in the community.

“It not easy to carry on your business legally and people a come break into your place. I need somebody to step in and look into this matter,” he emphasized.
