Party symbols approved by GECOM

Party symbols submitted to the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) were approved on Tuesday, according to government-nominated commissioner Sase Gunraj.
However, some symbols were approved on the condition that minor changes would be made. GECOM will engage those parties whose symbols need these minor changes.
Gunraj confirmed that the leopard symbol of businessman Azruddin Mohamed’s ‘We Invest in Nationhood’ has been approved and does not require any changes.
The submissions were made in response to a notice inviting potential contestants to submit their respective symbols no later than June 23, 2025.
In a release issued Tuesday night, GECOM clarified that 22 symbols were submitted and 19 were approved, while three would be subject to minor modifications.
GECOM also clarified that although 24 symbols were initially submitted, two of the parties have since joined the A Partnership for National Unity (APNU), resulting in their symbols being included within the partnership.
