EDGE Series to ignite rivalry in 3×3 Basketball, Cycling and Table Tennis

EDGE Sports Management on July 4 officially launched its highly anticipated EDGE Series at the SleepIn Hotel in Georgetown, ushering in a new era of local sport development.
Founded by two-time Guyanese Olympian Chelsea Edghill, the EDGE Series is slated for later this month, featuring intense rivalry in 3×3 Basketball, Cycling and Table Tennis.
According to Table Tennis player Edghill, 16 teams will compete for top honours in 3×3 Basketball at the National Gymnasium, eight teams will battle in Table Tennis at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, while the Criterium Cycle race is an open registration event, slated for the Seawall Bandstand.
Basketball will take place on July 12-13, Table Tennis on July 19-20 and Cycling on July 20.
For Basketball and Table Tennis, the top three finishers will receive G$500,000, G$300,000 and G$200,000 respectively, making it a one million dollar purse for each discipline.
A total prize purse of G$430,000 is up for grabs for Cycling, which will be an individual event.

Beautiful crystal trophies and medals are reserved for the champions of the various disciplines and the Most Valuable Players.
Republic Bank, via its ‘Power to make a difference’ initiative, is the title sponsor of the 3×3 Basketball competition; KFC Guyana is the title sponsor of the Table Tennis tournament, while the official uniform supplier is SQ Apparel.
In delivering feature remarks, Edghill told the gathering: “When EDGE Sports Management was established, our mission was clear: to elevate the standard of sport in Guyana and the Caribbean through professional management, innovation, and collaboration. The EDGE Series is a testament to what can happen when you believe in that mission and commit to delivering excellence.
“This Series is about opportunity. It is about giving our athletes- from juniors dreaming of their first medal to seasoned competitors- the stage to showcase their talents. It is about inspiring the next generation, strengthening our sporting culture, and demonstrating that together, we can build something remarkable.”
Representatives of the sponsors and various disciplines attended the launch.
