Businessman Joshua Taylor, 24, reportedly died from blunt trauma to the head that may have been caused by a fall or a hit, according to the findings of an autopsy conducted on Friday.

Police Headquarters reported that the man’s body was identified by his mother, Annette Taylor, and his brother, Alec. The autopsy was conducted by pathologist Dr. Nehaul Singh at the Georgetown Public Hospital’s mortuary.

The post-mortem examination was witnessed by a Detective Woman Sergeant and a Senior Superintendent of Police.

Doctor Singh reportedly opined that the blunt trauma to the man’s head could have been caused either by a fall or a hit. He said the brain was swollen, which could also be caused by the use of drugs.

A sample was taken from the body for a toxicology test to be done.

However, it was reported that there was no gunshot wound on the body, nor any signs of strangulation.

Based on information provided by a main civilian witness in this matter, Taylor was attempting to climb an iron gate, which is about seven feet high, and his ‘pants foot’ got hooked on the fence, causing him to fall off of the gate and into the yard of his aunt (Sabrina). He reportedly landed on his head but got back up quickly, and a red substance suspected to be blood was seen on his forehead.

It was earlier reported that Joshua and a few relatives got into an argument on Thursday morning, and as the matter escalated, he allegedly ran to his father’s room, took possession of the firearm, and discharged several rounds into the air.

A Police patrol responded to the scene and, upon noticing the officers, Joshua ran into a nearby yard where he was apprehended by a 49-year-old security guard.

He was held to the ground and disarmed. At that point, it was discovered that Joshua was injured. He was picked up and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
