To prepare Guyanese children for the future, Prime Minister Brigadier (Ret’d) Mark Phillips has assured residents that the school cash grant will increase every year.

“We going to give you money every year. And every year we are going to raise the money,” PM Phillips told a massive crowd of supporters at a PPP/C public meeting in Moruca.

This year, the Government provided a $50,000 ‘Because We Care’ cash grant to every child attending school. This was accompanied by a $5,000 school uniform grant.

The monies, Brigadier (ret’d) Phillips said, will help children get the basic necessities to attend schools. Also, he reminded the gathering that the government has been providing free text books to children.

PM Phillips also assured residents that the government, once re-elected come September 1, 2025, will ensure that children have access to a modern education.

He declared that 2025-2030 is the second phase of development for the Irfaan Ali led administration.

“We had COVID, we had floods but yet we listened to the people. We deliver on the things the people asked us for,” Brigadier (rRet’d) Phillips said.

He also highlighted that the PPP government will continue to fund development in the Region so that Moruca can benefit from development and transformation.
