GDF officer injured in Turks and Caicos plane crash, condition stable

The Guyana Defence Force (GDF) has confirmed that one of its officers, Captain Dwight Bonus, was involved in a single-engine aircraft crash in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands on Tuesday, July 29.

Captain Bonus, who was on personal vacation at the time of the incident, sustained injuries and was subsequently medically evacuated. He is currently receiving treatment overseas, and his condition has been described as stable.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the GDF said it remains in contact with the relevant authorities in Turks and Caicos and is monitoring the situation closely.

“Our thoughts are with Captain Bonus and his family during this time, and we extend our support for his full recovery,” the statement added.
