Nandlall tells voters to ‘reject dotishness’

Attorney General Anil Nandlall has urged Guyanese to reject politicians who insult their intelligence by making lofty or unrealistic promises ahead of the September 1, 2025, General and Regional Elections.

Nandlall opined that many of his political opponents have made “outlandish and incredulous” statements on the campaign. As an example, he said APNU Presidential Candidate, Aubrey Norton, spoke about defending Guyana from rigged elections when it has been the People’s National Congress, APNU’s major constituent, that has been involved in rigged elections over the decades.

“This level of deceit and dotishness must be removed from our political landscape.

“I am inviting voters to punish political leaders who descend to this level of dotishness or who would like to insult their intelligence to such an extent,” Nandlall said during his ‘Issues in the News’ commentary on Tuesday night.

In his commentary, Nandlall said Guyanese wield the power to reject these individuals and their utterances through voting. Nandlall is a candidate for the governing People’s Progressive Party Civic (PPP/C).

He also affirmed that every political leader has freedom of expression and has the right to promise whatever he or she wishes. However, Nandlall reiterated that voters must “deal condignly” with politicians who insult their intelligence.
