Bryan Mackintosh, also known as ‘Bryan Max,’ a candidate for the We Invest in Nationhood (WIN) party and social media personality, Mikhail Rodrigues, known as ‘Guyanese Critic’ were on Monday charged in connection with a physical confrontation they had over the weekend.

The men appeared before Magistrate Leroy Daly at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, where they were each arraigned on separate charges stemming from the incident which unfolded on Saturday, August 23, at Laluni Street, Georgetown.

Mackintosh, 59, of Turkeyen, Georgetown, faced three charges: using abusive language towards OC Rogers and provoking both Rodrigues and Rogers with the intent to insult or annoy them during an incident on August 23 at Laluni Street, Georgetown.

He denied the allegations and was placed on $15,000 bail on each charge.

Rodrigues, 45, pleaded not guilty to unlawfully and maliciously wounding Mackintosh. The prosecutor did not object to bail.

Attorney Dawn Cush represented Mackintosh, while Rodrigues had legal representation from Bernard DaSilva.

DaSilva, in his application for bail, told the court that Rodrigues has no prior convictions, though he has one other pending matter in court. He stressed that Rodrigues is well-known in society and is not a flight risk.

    Rodrigues was granted $100,000 bail.

Police confirmed that both men have been cooperating with investigators since the incident. The clash erupted on Saturday after Mackintosh, a WIN candidate, called into Rodrigues’ morning live show, claiming he was collecting money on behalf of businessman Azruddin Mohamed.

Rodrigues subsequently invited Mackintosh to his studio. When Mackintosh arrived, a heated confrontation ensued, escalating into expletives and physical aggression. The entire altercation was broadcast live, with video clips quickly circulating across social media platforms.

The matters were adjourned to September 15 in Court 3.
