Police in Regional Division Six have arrested two men following a violent robbery at a Corriverton home on Tuesday night that left a woman injured. A third suspect remains at large.

The incident occurred at around 20:20 hrs on August 9 at King Street, Dukestown, Corriverton, Berbice.

Police said 43-year-old Richard Dhup and his wife, 38-year-old Willeina Dhup, were in their yard when three masked men confronted them. One suspect, armed with a gun, ordered the couple inside, where they were forced to lie on the kitchen floor.

During the ordeal, the gunman pointed the weapon at Richard Dhup’s head while demanding cash. Another suspect stabbed Willeina Dhup in the back before the men ransacked the house and escaped with about G$2.7 million (US$13,000) in cash, gold jewellery and electronic devices.

The injured woman was treated at the No. 75 Hospital. Following the attack, police launched an intelligence-led operation and arrested two suspects early the next morning.

They were identified as Kevin Padmore, 31, known as “Bulla,” of Dukestown, Corriverton, and Cordell Small, 34, called “Mad Dawg,” of No. 77 Housing Scheme, Corriverton.

Police said both men admitted to planning and carrying out the robbery with a third suspect known as “Moses.” They also claimed no firearm was used, only a cutlass and a knife.

The two remain in custody at the Springlands Police Station as investigators continue to hunt the third suspect.
