Trevon Stanislaus and Suresh Dhanai combined for 18 wickets to lead Young Warriors Cricket Club to a 57-run win over a strong Tucber Park team in the Berbice Cricket Board’s First Division Two-Day competition.

Stanislaus completed an 11-wicket match haul, while Dhanai had seven in the game. Zeynul Ramsammy’s nine-wicket haul in the game was in vain for Tucber Park, featuring the likes of seasoned national players Romario Shepherd and Nial Smith.

Batting first, home side Young Warriors made 107 with Royden Phil making 29 and Stanislaus 25. Ramsammy picked up 5-31.

Malcolm Mickle then struck 44 to lead Tucber Park to 140 with Stanislaus taking 5-64 and Dhanai 3-32.

Batting a second time, Young Warriors managed 150 with Martin Singh making 42 and Ramsammy bagging 4-41.

Set a target of 118 for victory, Tucber Park folded for 60 all out with Stanislaus taking six wickets and Dhanai four to extend his tally to 25 in four games. Shepherd topscored with 22.

With the victory, Young Warriors have finished top of their group with three outright wins and first innings points in a drawn encounter to advance to the semi-finals.
