Palmyra Stadium on schedule for 2026 completion- Minister Ramson Jr.

Construction is on track at Palmyra Stadium in Region Six, with a targeted completion date set for the first quarter of 2026.

This update was provided by Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Charles Ramson Jr. during his inspection of the site on Sunday last (October 12).

Minister Ramson told reporters that significant work is underway, including sand filling and pile driving, which are crucial for completing a portion of the facility.

He emphasised that all major components required for the stadium’s completion are currently in the country.

“It’s moving apace. All of the major pieces that are needed for completion are in the country,” the minister asserted.

“We had some setbacks coming out of India, and some of the timeline with some of the logistics, because many of the pieces were manufactured and assembled in direct countries. So it was effectively an assembly of pieces coming from different parts of the world.”

Minister Ramson added: “There have been a lot of efforts to get this project on track, and on stream for completion by next year, which is what we expected it to be.’’

Construction of the facility, designed for 10,000 spectators, commenced in March 2023 and will meet International Cricket Council (ICC) standards without compromise.

When complete, it will be fully equipped to host a variety of sport, concerts and large-scale events.
