Cue Sports Association crowns champions in historic Women and Mixed Doubles tournament

The Cue Sports Association of Guyana (CSAG) has concluded its inaugural Ladies 8-Ball Championship and Mixed Doubles 8-Ball Championship, marking a significant step for inclusivity in the local cue sports scene.

Held recently at the Sheriff Pool Hall and proudly supported by Demerara Distillers Limited’s Diamond Reserve rum brand, the tournament showcased high-level talent and competitive spirit.

In the Ladies Championship, Cristall Williams delivered an impressive performance to claim the coveted first-place title. Sandy Singh secured the runner-up position, while Rossana Williams and Mandy Mangru shared the third-place spot.

Sean Desouza and Maleisha Alves won the inaugural Mixed Doubles Championship. Emmanuel Persaud and Rossana Williams followed them in second place.

Two talented duos, Kevin Mangru and Mandy Mangru, alongside Shawn Singh and Shivani Singh, shared third place.

The CSAG emphasised that the event successfully provided a new, dedicated platform for women and mixed teams to showcase their abilities, helping to inspire greater participation and visibility for new players.

Regarding the partnership,  Raveena Mangal of Diamond Reserve rum noted that the competition was “more than just a tournament; it was a celebration of confidence, camaraderie, and good spirits.”

The sponsors, including Sheriff Pool Hall, were praised for their instrumental support in making the historic event possible.
