Justice Yonette Cummings-Edwards proceeds on pre-retirement leave
President Dr Irfaan Ali announced on Friday afternoon that former Chancellor of the Judiciary, Justice Yonette Cummings-Edwards, is proceeding on pre-retirement leave.
Resultantly, the President said, Justice Roxane George will remain acting Chancellor and Justice Navindra, acting Chief Justice.
The Head of State, in a live broadcast, said Justice Cummings-Edwards requested to proceed on pre-retirement leave, and he accepted. In his short statement, he thanked the former Chancellor for her years of service to the Judiciary and to Guyana.
Meanwhile, the President also said Justice Singh was Friday sworn in as a member of the Judicial Service Committee.
