Guyanese ace female badminton player Priyanna Ramdhani has advanced to two finals- the Women’s Singles and Women’s Doubles- at the CAREBACO Senior Caribbean Badminton Championship in Trinidad and Tobago.

On Monday, Ramdhani defeated Breanna Bisnott of Jamaica 21-8, 21-10 in the semi-final to move forward to the championship game on Tuesday against Amara Urquhart of the host nation.

In the Women’s Doubles, Priyanna teamed up with Chequeda de Boulet of Trinidad and Tobago to win Monday’s semi-final against Jamaican pair Alexandra Beckford and Bisnott 21-17, 21-6.

Ramdhani and de Boulet will face Nekeisha Blake (T&T) and Sabrina Scott (Barbados) in Tuesday’s final.

In the Men’s Singles, Guyanese Akili Haynes put up a strong fight, but fell short against Vance Juteram of Trinidad and Tobago 12-21, 16-21 to earn a bronze medal.

Ramdhani and Haynes also secured bronze in the Mixed Doubles, losing a hard-fought semi-final against the Jamaican duo Bisnott and Kenneth Anglin 18-21, 9-21.

In other results, Haynes and Nkosi Beaton made it to the Round of 16 of the Men’s Doubles, while Mishka Beharry’s campaign in the Women’s Singles ended at the Round of 16 stage.
