Royal International Hotel renews support to KFC International School Football Tournament

The KFC Goodwill International Schools’ football tournament has secured vital sponsorship for the second consecutive year, confirming the Royal International Hotel as a key partner for its expanding 2025 edition.

The renewal of the partnership between the Georgetown-based hotel and tournament organisers, Petra, was formalised on Tuesday, providing a significant boost as the eight-team international event prepares for kick-off in December.

Royal International General Manager, Pamella Manasseh, stated that the hotel’s continued support was rooted in a shared vision for youth development through sport.

“We recognise that Petra’s mission closely aligns with our own principles that place great value on leadership, discipline, and community,” Manasseh said. “We are genuinely partners in progress.”

Petra Co-Director Troy Mendonca expressed gratitude for the commitment, emphasizing the importance of the support for the high-profile regional youth fixture.

“Royal International coming on board with us again speaks volumes for their belief in this programme. We will continue to push hard to deliver this tournament, and their renewed partnership is indicative of the work we’ve been doing,” Mendonca commented.

The 2025 tournament will run from Sunday, December 14, to Sunday, December 21, utilising a round-robin and knockout format.

Defending champions Chase’s Academic Foundation will headline the Guyanese representation, having claimed their inaugural title last year in a dramatic penalty shoot-out against Trinidad and Tobago’s St Benedict’s College.

Teams from Jamaica, The Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago and Suriname will also compete.
