The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) has officially commenced Block One of its second Concacaf ‘C’ License Coaching Course for 2025, taking place from November 20-24, in the halls of the Guyana National Stadium, Providence, with practical sessions scheduled at the GFF National Training Centre in Providence.

A total of 14 eligible coaches are participating, including nine new applicants and five returning ones, reflecting increasing national commitment to structured coaching pathways and professional training standards.

    Course Structure and Delivery

The programme is delivered in three blocks, combining theoretical learning with practical coaching experience:

    • Block One and Block Three: Theory integrated with practical components
    • Block Two: A minimum six-week mentorship period in each coach’s club environment

The course is facilitated by FIFA Coach Educator Diploma holders Lyndon France, Bryan Joseph- GFF Technical Director and Linsworth Gilbert, Head of Coach Education.

President of the GFF Wayne Forde said: “Coaching education is the bedrock of our football development strategy. Our coaches play a critical role in shaping the growth and potential of our players, and the GFF is making decisive investment in their advancement. Football is evolving rapidly and we are committed to equipping our coaches with the knowledge and tools required to meet the demands of modern player development.”

Technical Director Bryan Joseph said: “Our national football goals are anchored in the quality of players we are able to produce, and that is directly influenced by the quality of coaches working at every level of the game. The Technical Department understands this and we are dedicating time and resources to upskill all our coaches. We have a direct responsibility to push towards CONCACAF Convention membership, and we are tirelessly advancing coach education to achieve that standard.”

This marks the second C License programme hosted by the GFF in 2025, following the successful completion of the first cohort in April 2025, reinforcing the Federation’s long-term strategy to elevate coaching quality as the foundation for national player development. (GFF Press Release)
