Guyana Harpy Eagles’ campaign in the CG United Super50 Cup concluded on Thursday with another no-result, this time against Barbados Pride at the Sir Frank Worrell Memorial Ground, St. Augustine, Trinidad.

In five games, Harpy Eagles had the misfortune of four no-results because of severe inclement weather in the twin-island republic.

Three of those matches ended without a ball bowled, while the other had just one completed innings.

In addition, Harpy Eagles suffered a six-run defeat to Trinidad and Tobago in their lone completed game, which was also affected by rain, the outcome decided by the Duckworth/Lewis/Stern method.

Harpy Eagles finished with nine points, ahead of Leeward Islands Hurricanes and Jamaica Scorpions with eight and six points respectively.

Trinidad and Tobago Red Force and Barbados Pride will clash in Saturday’s final after finishing with 31 points apiece at the top of the table, while Windward Islands Volcanoes had 21 points.

Adding to the woes, opener Raymond Perez had to leave the tournament midway after picking up a right shoulder injury while fielding. He is out of action for at least six weeks.

Guyana last won the Super50 title in 2005.

In the other two fifth round games on Thursday, Trinidad and Tobago Red Force defeated Leeward Islands Hurricanes by eight wickets and Windward Islands Volcanoes defeated Jamaica Scorpions by one wicket.

SUMMARY: Leeward Islands Hurricanes 213 all out from 49 overs (Jahmar Hamilton 71, Karima Gore 39; Ricky Jaipaul 3-32, Terrance Hinds 3-50) vs Trinidad and Tobago Red Force 214-2 from 43.1 overs (Tion Webster 83, Amir Jangoo 72*)

SUMMARY: Jamaica Scorpions 231 all out from 44.4 overs (Jeavor Royal 124, Carlos Brown 22, Brad Barnes 21; McKenny Clarke 3-41, Shadrack Descarte 2-44, Kenneth Dember 2-51) vs Windward Islands Volcanoes 233-9 from 49.1 overs (Dillon Douglas 44, Darron Nedd 35, Sunil Ambris 34, Shadrack Descarte 31, Johann Jeremiah 30; Brad Barnes 2-29, Andre Bailey 2-43, Jeavor Royal 2-47, Marquino Mindley 2-60)
