New water taxi hours now in effect for Parika, Bartica and Georgetown routes

The Maritime Administration Department (MARAD) has announced updated operating hours for water taxis across several routes in Guyana.

Effective December 1, the Parika to Bartica service will operate from 5:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Meanwhile, the Parika to Wakenaam, Supenaam, and Parika to Leguan services will run from 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

For water taxis operating along the Demerara River between Georgetown and Vreed-en-Hoop, extended hours are allowed, with operations continuing until 8:00 p.m.

MARAD emphasises that these hours take effect immediately and will remain in place until further notice.

Commuters are encouraged to plan their travel accordingly and stay updated on any future changes.
