Two suspects arrested at La Grange after 50 pounds of cocaine found
Two individuals were arrested on Wednesday after ranks attached to the Customs Anti Narcotic Unit (CANU) found nearly 50 pounds of cocaine in a vehicle at La Grange, West Bank Demerara.
According to a CANU release, the ranks conducted an operation in the vicinity of La Grange Public Road, West Bank Demerara, where they intercepted a motor vehicle. A subsequent search of the motor vehicle revealed 20 brick-like parcels containing a quantity of cocaine.
Two individuals were arrested and escorted to CANU Headquarters, along with the narcotics, which weighed 22.394 kilogrammes.
CANU said investigations are ongoing.
