Six persons including a teenager have been jointly charged for failing to report the unnatural death of wanted man Jamal Bourne, whose final moments were captured in a video that later circulated widely on social media.

The charge stemmed from the incident that occurred on January 18, 2026. The accused individuals were arrested on January 20, 2026.

Those charged are Shiloh Nurse, 26, of Stanleytown, West Bank Demerara; Yashua Angoy, 20, of Kaneville, East Bank Demerara; a 17-year-old male of Yarrowkabra along the Linden Highway; Tyron Gill, called “Ace,” 21, of North Ruimveldt, Georgetown; Latana Rambharrat, 18, of Belle West, West Bank Demerara; and Sasha Lyken, 21, of Samatta Point Grove, East Bank Demerara.

They appeared before Magistrate Rushell Liverpool at the Linden Magistrate’s Court on Monday, where the charge was read to them. They pleaded guilty and were each fined $9,750. The teenager was cautioned and sent away.

However, Nurse faced an additional charge of possession of an unlawful firearm and ammunition without a licence, in relation to a matter that remains under investigation.

He denied the allegation and was remanded to prison. That case was adjourned to February 18, 2026.

The charges follow a Police operation conducted last week at Three Miles, Wisroc Housing Scheme, Wismar, Linden. During the exercise, investigators examined a burnt area where suspected human ashes and bone fragments, believed to be Bourne’s remains, were discovered and secured for forensic testing.

Police also searched a nearby wooden structure where they reported finding several items, including a suspected pistol with an empty magazine, three shotgun cartridges, a suspected spent 9mm shell, knives, clothing and other objects. Three toy rifles were also found in nearby bushes.

According to investigators, information received suggested that after Bourne reportedly shot himself, his body was taken to nearby bushes and set on fire. Police were further told that the remains were later removed and dumped into a creek.
