Mohammed takes 8-11 to dismiss Guyana for 31 in Women’s Super50

Guyana suffered a huge defeat to Trinidad and Tobago in the second round of the CG United Women’s Super50 competition on Thursday in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Trinidad and Tobago, led by their ace spinner Anisa Mohammed, dismissed Guyana for a paltry 31 in just in 16.5 overs. Off-spinner Mohammed was excellent with the ball, picking up immaculate figures of 8-11 off 8.5 overs.

Fellow off-spinner Karishma Ramharack, the only other bowler used, picked up 1-17 off eight overs.

None of the Guyanese reached double-figures, with opener Realeanna Grimmond eight off 21 balls being the highest individual score.

Five players- Laurene Williams, Shemaine Campbelle, Latoya Williams, Plaffiana Millington and Tremaine Marks- were dismissed without scoring.

In reply, Trinidad and Tobago coasted to a nine-wicket win, reaching 32-1 from 11 overs, with off-spinner Ashmini Munisar the wicket-taker.

Guyana, who started the tournament with a five-wicket win over Jamaica, will play Windward Islands in their third and final round match on Saturday.
