UPDATE: One person confirmed dead in accident on Demerara Bridge

One person has been confirmed dead, and several others are injured in the Thursday morning accident on the Bharrat Jagdeo Demerara River Bridge.
Traffic Chief Mahendra Singh confirmed the fatality; he also said six vehicles were involved.
The accident involved a truck that experienced a mechanical failure. The vehicle rolled down the bridge, crashing into other vehicles.
