Cane harvester caught with narcotics on $100,000 bail
Travis Fraser, a 53-year-old cane harvester of Uitvlugt, West Coast Demerara, who was nabbed with cannabis and cocaine, has pleaded not guilty to the crime and was granted $100,000 bail.
According to a release from the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU), Fraser appeared before Magistrate Rabindranauth Singh at the Leonora Magistrate’s Court on charges related to the offence of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking. He pleaded not guilty during the Court appearance on Friday. The matter has been adjourned to April 22, 2026.
Based on an earlier release from CANU, ranks went to the man’s house in search of the narcotics. The ranks found 46 grams of cocaine and 1.798 kilograms of cannabis.
